Ric joined Steinhaus Financial Group in 1990 and in 1999, was named Columbus Regional CEO of Steinhaus, an affiliate of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. In addition to building his personal financial planning practice, he led and supported a team of 200 financial planners and management personnel who provide estate, business succession and investment strategies to affluent corporate executives, business owners and retirees.
Before being named the Columbus and Fort Wayne Managing Director, Ric worked as the Investment Sales Coordinator (ISC) where he received national recognition for his work. Prior to that, Ric worked in banking and financial services since 1982. Ric resigned his MD position in 2005 to dedicate 100% of his time back into his practice. Ric’s business specializes in working with Retail executives of LBrands; Big Lots; Ascena, which owns retailers such as TweenBrands and Lane Bryant; DSW and Abercrombie & Fitch. He is a consistent Top of Council planner.
A recognized leader in the Columbus area, Ric has published articles on financial planning in Business First, the Columbus Dispatch and is frequently quoted in national publications on building a financial planning practice. At Ric’s leadership, Steinhaus won the Corporate Caring Award in 2001 and 2005. Ric’s biggest professional achievement came when he was recognized in Business First’s 2001 “40 under 40”. This award recognized the 40 greatest leaders in the community under the age of 40. In October, 2015 Ric changed the name of his firm to BlueStone Wealth Partners in partnership with three other successful practices within LFA.
Ric received his B.S. in Finance from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in 1985. In 1993, he received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and his Masters in Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning. Ric is former Chairman of the Holding Company of the Buckeye Ranch; a non for profit that provides hope and healing to children dealing with mental health, emotional, behavioral, and substance use issues. He has held a board seat with the Buckeye Ranch for over 20 years. He also held a seat on the Executive Board of the LPGA’s Wendy’s Championship for Children and past Charter board member of the Young Professionals (Zookeepers) at the Columbus Zoo. He is also a member of the Legal & Professional Advisory Committee of the Columbus Foundation. Ric and his wife, Lori, are members of the Cor Vitae as well as the “Go Red for Women” supporting the American Heart Association.
Ric and Lori reside in Plain City. They have two children: Linley, who lives in Philadelphia and Gabe, who lives in Chicago.
